Nair Legal advises Journey Beyond on shipbuilding tender and contract

Nair Legal is proud to announce that it has advised Cruise Whitsundays, part of Journey Beyond, on the competitive tender process and contract award to Austal Australasia for the construction of a new 36-metre catamaran.

The deal – in the vicinity of A$15 million – is a signal demonstration of Journey Beyond’s investment in the Cruise Whitsundays fleet and its commitment to continue enhancing tourism in the Great Barrier Reef.

Designed specifically for local conditions by Incat Crowther, the unique vessel will have a capacity of up to 390 passengers and 10 crew and will operate in the breathtaking Whitsundays within the Great Barrier Reef.

Journey Beyond is Australia’s leading experiential tourism group, and home to some of the country’s most iconic tourism experiences.

Austal is a leading Australian shipbuilder and the first ASX-listed shipbuilder. It operates shipyards in Australia, Vietnam, the United States and the Philippines.
